Our beautiful restaurant is the perfect place to join friends and family for European-inspired cuisine. The large front porch welcomes you to an old fashioned kind of place, where dining out is the main event. But this place is anything but old-fashioned! The knowledgeable staff is friendly and accommodating, and the cuisine is always terrific. Come dine for lunch or dinner, and try a selection from our wine list.
The Key to his Dreams...
702 S Main
Lucio was driving by with his wife and spotted this beautiful diamond in the rough. It was love at first sight. This lovely mid-to late-eighteenth century Victorian residence called to them. Clearly, it was in much disrepair. But with the vision of Lucio and his two daughters, it became the elegant house that today adorns Culpeper's Main Street.
Renovations began in 2001, with attention to detail in every corner. Lucio, wanting to keep traditional period design, endeavored for the authentic look by keeping the original flooring and most of the original windows, like the two walkout windows to the front porch. The former proved to be a puzzling experience!
e had always dreamt of having a restaurant in a warm and cozy house setting....
Along with his family and trusted staff, their visions are reality. How many people can say their dreams actually came true?
Lucio Tonizzo
Lucio moved from his native Precenicco, a small town near Venice in northern Italy to Rome when he was only 14. The dream of many young boys was close to reality: the opportunity to play professional soccer. At the same time he started developing a taste for the culinary arts, which eventually eclipsed his hopes of a soccer profession.
After that, his life was a collection of experiences from all over the world. From Covent Garden in the heart of London to a restaurant on the River Seine, in Paris. His favorite being Florence, Italy, the beautiful city he had the good fortune to live in. Moving to Texas and Northern Virginia just to name a few... each stint enriching his culinary knowledge and taking his dishes to another level.
Anything but,
Old- Fashioned!!!
